Nerd Art Dump: Burlesque Princess Leia, The Dixon Brothers, Sword Swinging Link & MOAR!

Each and every week we scour the Internet for nothing but the best in nerdy art. We leave no digital stone unturned, we poke and prod every nook and cranny of the Interwebz. Why? Because we love you, and we love to bring you weekly feed of nerd art. On with the dump!

Above: This burlesque style Princess Leia by Deviant Artist jazreet911 has all the right curves for all you scruffy nerf herders out there who shoot first. Just don’t bring up Alderaan, it’s kills the mood. [Geek Tyrant]

Hit the jump for video game characters as dogs, Naughty Snow White and moar.

Twenty famous video game characters, every one of them transformed by Jeff Delgado into some type of dog. See if you can figure out all the characters/breeds. Unless you have something better to do. [Game Freaks]

A play on Salvador Dal ‘s The Persistence of Memory, artist Feralucce decided to inject a little Doctor Who into some modern art. [Deviant Art]

It might be a fictional magazine cover, but the ladies of Gotham city certainly have something catching their attention. Part of a series of covers by Mark Dos Santos, Norman Rockwell inspired covers featuring Batgirl and Robin, the Joker and a rogues Christmas dinner. Right in time for the holiday season, you can own one of these prints too. [The Mary Sue]

Merle and Daryl, together again. Julie9rides rendered this awesome pic of the estranged brothers from AMC’s The Walking Dead. We now return you to waiting till February for the second half of season three. [Alexlovee]

In Hollywood films a keyframe illustration is usually the starting or stopping point of a films transition into a new scene and none have been better then Andy Park‘s work for The Avengers. Highlighting several of the film’s more notable scenes as well as character designs, Park does some insanely detailed work. You can almost feel Joss Whedon in the background going “I’m going to be so rich”. [Geek Tyrant]

Never let Zatanna ask if the cat’s got your tongue, you might end up like the Catwoman here, thanks to Elizabeth Torque. [Nudity and Nerdery]

Man, the Muppets really tried some different kinds of music before giving up and going back to feature films. Too bad Jordan Kotzebue didn’t realize the Gorillaz already had the animated band locked for the last decade, they might have had it if Damon Albarn hadn’t already jammed his foot in the door. [Comics Alliance]

Something tells me Virginie Siveton has had Snow White in her cross hairs for a Rockabilly Pinup for quite some time, she’s already done a series of these with other Disney princesses. Queen Grimhilde was jealous that she was the fairest in the land, she was jealous that Snow White had better tattoos. [Deviant Art]

If we learned anything from Wreck-It Ralph it’s that letting a different game character in a game there not supposed to be in is always a bad move. Dave Pryor has given us a perfect example of this, with Link going sword crazy hacking and slashing ghosts while Pacman takes an arrow to the…I think it’s his knee. [XombieDIRGE]
