Gundam Seed: Lacus Clyne 03

Near the end of the Bloody Valentine War, Lacus leaves the PLANTs in a stolen support ship known as the Eternal. Hers, along with Orb Union's Kusanagi, and the Archangel, form the Three Ships Alliance, dedicating themsleves to stop the war. In the final battle, she tried to persuade both sides to stop fighting, but she unfortunately fails.

Lacus has been known to have the ability to go into SEED mode when she goes to battle. However, only her pupils become dilated, and no symbolic seed explosion has ever been seen.

Another cosplayer from this year's Comiket! Lacus is practically one of my most favorite characters in the series, but she became less prominent in the sequel, Gundam Seed Destiny. I do love this outfit of hers more than the original one. Great work!

Gundam Seed Destiny: Alex Dino aka Athrun Zala

In the end of the war of Gundam Seed, Athrun disguises himself as Alex Dino in order to stay by Cagalli Yula Athha's side as her personal bodyguard.

And what a lovely cosplay of Athrun Zala / Alex Dino we have here. I personally like the color of his hair. It looks absolutely perfect! The eye color and attitude are lovely as well.

On a side note to the Gundam Seed and Gundam Seed Destiny Fans, can anyone tell me who Athrun actually ended up with at the end of the Seed Series (including Destiny and etc.)? It seems Athrun was first engaged to Lacus, then Lacus broke that off to be with Kira. Athrun then fell in love with Cagalli, but during the aftermath, he departs with Meyrin Hawke.

I'm just confused... Does anyone have a definite answer for me?

Gundam: Exia, RX-78, Z-plus

There is no way that I am a Gundam expert, and neither is my Chinese language skills all that well, so I'm relying on the comments posted in the video's page to say that this is a "family" of Gundams: Exia, RX-78, and Z-Plus! Please do correct me if I'm wrong, and feel free to comment on their proper names so I can edit this!

...and am I right to say this was actually a wedding? Oh wow, talk about a unique approach! Thank you so much to Tania for sharing this video with us!

Gundam Seed: Flay Allster

Daughter of Atlantic Federation Vice Foreign Minister George Allster, Flay Allster is a Heliopolis technical college student who is well-known within the colony for her pretty features. She has a general distrust towards Coordinators, going so far as to exaggerate her encounter with a Coordinator to convince others that they are evil. Although she portrayed herself to be nothing more than a carefree and spoiled princess, she is actually fragile, manipulative, and spiteful.

That's a pretty convincing cosplay by Juliann Ysabel. I'm actually afraid for Kira's sake. Thanks again to the cosplayer for allowing me to feature this!

STGCC 2012 Day 1 Event Report

The Singapore Toy, Games & Comic Convention brings the East and the West in one gigantic pop culture explosion! Held this year on the 1st and 2nd of September at the gorgeous Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Center, this year’s line up brings several fresh faces as well as a slew of STGCC favorites!

Designer toy heroes Simone Lego, Tristan Eaton, and Devilrobots wow-ed urban vinyl and plastic pop collectors with their latest releases as well as re-issues of several favorites. I personally did not survive the onslaught unscathed, as I couldn’t resist several TokiDoki premiums as well as the STGCC exclusive Treesons from Crazy Label and Ozzo Collection.

Japanese pop culture fans weren’t left out in the cold at this con — not with the massive Gunpla display, and the queues at the Tekken tournament space (where the winner walks away with over SGD 1,000 in prizes). Also back at STGCC 2012 was one of my favorite merch booths from the previous con: Bloody Bunny from Thailand. Cute and gory at the same time, you won’t be able to resist him when he’s on the warpath

Last but not least is the Hulk-sized booth from Hot Toys — featuring their latest must-buy collectible figures! With a nearly complete line-up from the biggest movie of the year: each of the six Avengers (Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, The Hulk, Black Widow, and Hawkeye), SHIELD Director Nick Fury, and charismatic villain Loki Laufeyson, Hot Toys is sure to burn a hole in your pocket — and you’ll love every minute of it!
