New Video: ARKHAM ASYLUM Fan-Made Movie Trailer ( Not The Video Game )

This video is an extremely well-done fan-made "movie trailer" for a Batman Fan-Film titled ARKHAM. It's done with CGI 3-D Computer Graphics & is NOT related to the current video game titled "Arkham Asylum". It features Dr. Harley Quinn & her patient, The Joker. The sound effects & music are really excellent so be sure to crank-up your speakers, enjoy!

CUSTOM MIGHTY MUGGS FIGURES: Batman, The Joker, & The Scarecrow Too!

OK, This morning, when trying to decide what to post today, I got into a total "Celebrate Creativity" kind of mood, ha ha! Ya know, I like when Batman Fans get creative & make artwork or crafts to show their appreciation for the character. Some creative people out there like to customize things. Here's a great example: Here are 3 Custom Mighty Muggs Figures that have been totally repainted to look like Batman ( the Michael Keaton 1989 movie version ), The Joker ( Jack Nicholson, '89 version ), & The Scarecrow ( From the newer Batman Begins & The Dark Knight movies ). These are just so well done I had t post them! Plus, they're kinda funny too. Now, for people unfamiliar with the "toy business". Mighty Muggs Figures are made by Hasbro & they make actual products like this of G.I. Joe, Transformers, Star Wars, Raiders of The Lost Ark, Marvel Comics Superheroes, etc...but they DO NOT make DC Comic characters ( Mattel has the exclusive license ). So, for some people who love these figures, but want DC Universe-Style characters, they just go ahead & make their own. Custom Toy: THE DARK KNIGHT JOKER-CYCLE Action Figure Vehicle!

I don't really mean for today to be "Custom Toy Day" but that's kinda how it sort of randomly happened, ha ha! But you'll like this cool post so be quiet! Our good friend Danica sent me this photo of a JOKER CYCLE that her friend Damian made. He used an older toy made by Kenner for their DARK KNIGHT action figure line. Now, back when this vintage toy was made "The Dark Knight" movie was not even an idea yet & they just called their line of Batman toys "The Dark Knight Collection". I remember when they were in retail stores & they made some really great stuff! I have especially always loved this Joker Bike & it's sort of an obscure toy today. Now the original Joker-Cycle had a HUGE "Joker Head" on the front of the motorcycle & when you hit a button it flew off like a weapon. What Damian did was replace the face with one of the "Joker Goon Masks" that came with the brand-new line of Movie Masters action figures. He also custom painted the bike a little bit to make it more modern-looking. The Joker Bank Robber Goon action figure looks pretty awesome sitting on there too! Now the photo that Danica sent was pretty BIG & plus the toy is pretty awesome so I thought it would make a great Batman Desktop Background. So, that's what I did...if you click on the picture you can open it to a size that's perfect for wallpaper. Check it out!! Thanks to both Dancia & Damian for sending the cool pic. BATMAN AND JOKER Themed ART GALLERY SHOW - Albuquerque, NM - Aug. 8th, 2009

On Saturday, August 8th, 2009 ( 5:00pm - 11:00pm ) in Albuquerque, New Mexico the TRILLION ART SPACE ( 2nd & Marquette ) will have an art show titled, "WHY SO SERIOUS?". The show will feature art work in many shapes, forms, & sizes but all of it will have a special focus on Batman and/or The Joker. There will be paintings, photos, colleges, etc... Shown here are just a few examples. The 1st photo shows the poster for the event. The 1st painting is a large car hood that has been painted almost Graffiti-Style with a portrait of Heath Ledger's Joker from The Dark Knight Batman movie ( Awesome! ). The next one is a Cubist-Style painting of the Joker that looks exactly like Pablo Picasso's famous self-portrait ( I love the parody here, good job, instantly recognizable ). The next few are examples of image-appropriation where they have taken existing photos or art & defaced them with Joker face make-up. Plus, at the art show, there will be much more artwork & it really looks like it's gonna be an extremely cool event! So, if you live in that area be sure to check it out ( Please send us some pics if ya go! ) Oh yeah, the last photo looks like maybe a postcard they made to advertise the event or maybe it's just a flyer, not sure. But the graphics are pretty sweet!

VIDEO: New BATMAN: ARKHAM ASYLUM Video Game GADGETS HD Trailer

In this latest video from Eidos Games we get a chance to see some of the amazing GADGETS from the soon-to-be-released BATMAN: ARKHAM ASYLUM Video Game. I'm seriously starting to totally fall in love with this game & have not even played it yet! I really like the BATARANG Gadget the best. Well, OK, the Grapeling Gun looks pretty awesome too, ha ha! With a release date of August 25th, 2009 it looks like this will be the 2009 GAME OF THE YEAR!

All the reports that I have been getting so far are saying that this is the BEST Batman and/or Comic Book Superhero Franchise video game yet!! Vintage BATMAN TOY COLLECTION Family Photos: PART ONE

I get e-mails all the time from Bat-Blog readers & totally love it! But I gotta say that this one was sort of special. These pics came from a friend named Justin who sent a photo of himself when he was a little kid playing with some of his Batman Toys. The cool thing is that he still has those toys today. So, the 1st few photos are the Batman items he still has now & then the very last photo is him with those toys many years ago, as a kid. You can see that he had some of the stuff from the 1989 Batman movie by Tim Burton. This line of Action Figures was made by ToyBiz. There's Batman, Robin, The Joker, & Bob The Goon ( Joker's Sidekick ). He also still has his original Batmobile & Joker Van too! Now, these photos of his toys & the old photos are pretty cool, but the really neat thing is that now he has a son who's totally into Batman & he has taken a few shot of him with his brand-new bat-toys ( NOT Dad's stuff ! ). Trust me, in the future people are going to be saying, "Wow, what neat OLD Batman Toys"...ha ha. For this post I am showing Justin & his Vintage Toys from yesteryear. Then, in a later post, we will show the modern-day photos.

ART: THE JOKER - JACK IN THE BOX Custom Toy

Shown here are some photos of an amazing Custom Toy made by a Bat-Blog Reader known as "Turkey Bowinkle". Yeah, that's his name. You got a problem with that? But seriously he's a very creative person & he made this LITTLE JOKER Jack In The Box! It's a small wooden box with painted Joker Card graphics. When you open the lid - BOOM! - The Joker pops out! The Joker Figure is some sort of sculpted clay ( painted later ) with cloth clothing & green hair. I really love this little toy. It's so cool! The facial expression on Joker's face is really great & he does sort of look a lot like Cesar Romero from the 1966 Batman TV Show! So, "Turkey Bowinkle" is a very talented artist in deed! I wanna thank him for sending the wonderful pics & also invite all other Bat-Blog Readers ( with special art or craft projects ) to please send us some pics as well.

Gerry's JOKER Costume ( The Dark Knight Movie - Heath Ledger Version )

Since Halloween is over, & many people didn't get dressed-up until then, we have been getting a few photos from Bat-Blog Fans who wore costumes of their favorite Batman characters. That's awesome! Like, just the other night we got these cool pics from our friend Gerry who became The JOKER this year. He chose the "Heath Ledger" version from The Dark Knight movie. Both the costume & make-up are extremely well done but the neat thing was he went to a party that had a Professional Photographer. I like how you guys sort of replicated some famous movie images. Like, when Heath ( as the Joker ) removed his Bank Robber Mask, that's pretty neat. The image with the Joker Playing Card is also a nice tribute. Thanks to Gerry for sending these in. I know a lot of people are gonna really like them.

Marvin Law's Special BATMAN KIDS STORY Comic Book Artwork

The 3 Batman Comic Book Pages you see here were a part of the CAPMA Promo Awards event. They offered a custom comic book story as a prize during the intermission. These were drawn by our friend Marvin Law who said, "It was an interesting challenge to draw a short story that was finished in just 3 pages, and featured no violence whatsoever." That is cool! Thanks Marvin for the update & sending the nice pics. Yes, the artwork is really great & I like how the entire story is told with NO words. The pictures just speak for themselves...great job! Batman Christmas Holiday Decorating Idea # 1

It seems our friends Dallas & Daria are really getting into the Holiday Spirit this year! They decorated a few Batman, Joker, & Catwoman Statues with Christmas wreaths. The funny thing is the expression on Batman's face makes him look like he's not too happy with the whole idea, ha ha! But, overall, the 3 busts look pretty cool & I thought the picture would make a great Christmas Card image ( Thanks to Dallas for sending us the funny pic ).

BATMAN PAPER CRAFT MODEL KIT - The JOKER'S "I Scream" ICE CREAM TRUCK!

Shown here is a totally insane Paper Craft Toy designed by J.P. Cote of Paper Empire Toys. It's the JOKER'S "I SCREAM" ICE CREAM TRUCK Model Kit in 1:24th Scale!! For people unfamiliar with this type of thing, basically what you do is: You download a few PDF files of this model onto your computer, you print them out with your PC's Printer on "card stock" paper, & then you cut them out. After that: you bend, fold, & paste them into this vehicle. Think of it as a Car Model Kit made out of paper! But just check out the photos here, this thing is CRAZY, ha ha! It comes with Rocket Launcher Silos, Joker Head Turret on the Top, a Rocket Exhaust on the Back, & even a Specially-Sized JOKER Action Figure! Cool Batmobile Toy Collection From Taiwan & a Batman Japanese Magazine

I know the title for this post is kinda lame. I know I'm suppose to come up with something funny or extremely clever but I'm just not in the mood this morning, OK? ha ha! So, let's get right to it. Recently the Bat-Blog made a new friend in Taiwan named Jerry. Right off the bat he sent us some amazing pictures of Batman Fandom from the other side of the world. OK, I know the Internet has been around for almost 3 decades now but I'm still amazed ( like a Caveman ) about the quick & easy communication with people from anywhere on the globe, it's like magic...I love it! Anyway, Jerry's a nice guy & really into Batman, so that's cool. The 1st pic is a display of some of his favorite Large-Size Toy Batmobiles. You have the Batmobile from the later Animated Series, the Tumbler from The Dark Knight movie, the car from Batman: The Animated Series ( I've always totally loved that car ), the Tim Burton movie car, the Futuristic Flying Batmobile from Batman Beyond, & one of the Vehicles from a later Joel Schumacher Film, Batman Forever. AWESOME!! It's really cool to see them all together like this! Plus, it's a very nice collection. Now the next group of 3 photos is a Japanese Magazine owned by Jerry. It looks like the main cover story is all about the incredible Dolls, Toys, & Action Figures made by HOT TOYS for the DARK KNIGHT movie. I can't read any of this, ha ha, but visually it looks so great & I really love it too! They covered the Christian Bale & Heath Ledger Figures, the Bat-Pod Motorcycle, the Giant-Size Tumbler Vehicle, & some misc ( mainly the Joker Art Bust ). Amazing BATMAN TOY COLLECTION of THE JOKER!

I'm kinda proud of the fact that the Bat-Blog is one of the #1 places that people enjoy sharing their love of Batman Toy collecting. I've been a total Toy Collector for over 20 years & I am always still amazed when I see other people's collections. I don't know, it's just a really neat experience. Here's a great example. The other day I got an e-mail from a Bat-Blog Fan named Jason. You might remember his cool Joker & Poison Ivy Tattoo Photos we posted recently. Well, he sent us some pics of his awesome JOKER TOY collection!! I gotta say that there are some very great "Prince of Crime" items shown here, Ha Ha Ha! I love how it's all displayed so nicely. Plus, it's really cool to see a bunch of Joker stuff all together. I like collections that focus on a certain aspect of Batman. A few people I know focus mainly on the Batmobile Cars, for example. I wanna thank Jason for sharing these wonderful photos. Jason, I know you sent more pics than this but because of space limitations I had to tweet then down a little. But, overall, this is a nice representation of your amazing collection. Thanks for sending them, I appreciate that a lot.
