POW! A friend on Facebook recently did some extremely awesome drawings of Batman & Robin from the 1966 TV Show. Of course we're talking about Adam West & Burt Ward: The Caped Crusader & The Boy Wonder!! The artist's name is Chris Mason. You can tell that Chris is a huge fan of this classic television series because of the love that went into these drawings. The details are really sharp & my favorite one is the 1st one with the scene from the 60's movie where Batman tries to get rid of a bomb, "Some days you just can't get rid of a bomb"! Thanks for letting me post these Chris. I know that a lot of Bat-Blog Fans are gonna really love these, they're GREAT! ZAP!

I love getting e-mails & the chance to meet Batman Fans from all over the world. It's so cool to me that Batman is so popular in many different countries. It really says a lot about what a great character he is. Like, this morning, I got a message from a Bat-Blog Reader named Kai who sent these very interesting pieces of Batman art that he did recently. Kai is from Finland & I gotta say that I'm totally jealous he lives there, ha! His artwork is pretty good too & it's "The Dark Knight" movie-version of the character. It shows Batman ( Christian Bale ) wearing his "Sonar-Vision" Bat-Suit & carrying that gun he used to place charges on that building while he was in Hong Kong. That's cool! The 2nd pic is his original drawing & then the 1st one is the colored version he did in Photoshop. Kai, you did a very wonderful job on both of these. Thank you so much for sending them. I know a lot of people will really enjoy them. I want to invite all creative people from all over the globe to share their pics. It can be anything Batman-related: Art, Toy Collections, Tattoos, Graphics, Costumes, etc...Thanks!
We got to meet an extremely Famous Comic Book Artist recently named Art Baltazar! I mean, in real-life, in-person, not on the internet, ha ha! Art was visiting Oklahoma City ( where I live ) to do a speaking event at a local University on "The Magic of Comics". Later, he did a book signing ( & drew some awesome drawings ) at NEW WORLD COMICS, a local comic book shop. He's the creator & artist of TINY TITANS, a DC Comics title for children. He's the main artist of that comic book & it's always a lot of fun. Meeting him was kinda cool. In person, he's a very nice guy & very funny. He told me about how he has a hobby of customizing 8" Mego Dolls. He likes to make Superhero Characters that Mego never made. I've seen a small part of his collection & it's really neat. He also drew us a few sketches ( shown here ), which was pretty cool! For Kandye, he drew Catwoman ( Modern day version ) & he made me a drawing of Adam West as Batman. It's funny, all the artwork he did that day he would write the proper name of that character. Like, Catwoman's "real name" is Selina. The artwork was done with a Black Sharpee Pen & then he would color it with Crayons. It sort of replicates the look of his Tiny Titan's art. I wanna thank Art Baltazar for the awesome drawings he made for us & I hope to meet him again. Back in 1990 DC Comics published a one-shot Batman Graphic Novel, written & drawn by Pepe Moreno, called BATMAN: DIGITAL JUSTICE. I remember when it came out & it was a very big deal. I bought it & have totally loved it all these years. The main thing about it was that the artwork was totally created on a computer and, at that time, it was extreme state of the art. I mean, it was groundbreaking! Now, by today's standards, the art may seem kind of cheesy ( no offense to the artist ) but back then it just blew everyone's mind!! Plus, the artwork was really great especially if you consider that it was drawn with the earliest of computer graphic programs. It must have been painstaking to draw between computer crashes, ha! The other cool thing was that the story was really good too. So, all around, it was just a very wonderful Batman book. Over the years it has been translated into many different languages ( the pic up above shows the Spanish version cover ). The sketch of Batman, up above, was the original mock-up drawing for the cover. Obviously the story was set in the far far future. It was actually way after the death of our modern-day Batman. Parts of it were almost sort of like the TRON movie, but not really. It dealt with a deadly "Joker computer virus" that was threatening the future Gotham City. Anyways, it's a book I highly recommend. Another thing, if you have already read this novel & you're a fan of it then you might be happy to know that the artist Pepe Moreno has been posting a lot of personal sketches from this classic book on his art blog. Right now DC Digital Comics is having a sweepstakes where you can win an iPad that the comic book artist Jim Lee has customized. Basically he drew a large sketch of Batman on the back of the tablet. To enter the contest you need to become a member of ComiXology. Which, I think, is free. Now, don't get me started on my issues with the whole "Comic Books Going Digital" thing, ha!
