On April 17th the Bat-Blog introduced you to an artist named MAX who lives in Bretagne, France. He's the guy who created & sculpted that "Life-Size Heath Ledger JOKER" Statue Bust. I'm showing it in the very 1st photo to jog your memory but the post is mainly about this other piece, The Batman! YES! Max has done another one & this one is Batman ( The Dark Knight movie version ) & it's just as incredible! Just check out the photos. This artist's work is totally insane! Max was kind enough to allow me to post these photos & I really appreciate that. I love sharing Batman news & other stories but seeing an extremely talented artist be inspired by the Batman character is just awesome. Thanks Max....we look forward to seeing MORE art from you soon!

It seems our friends Dallas & Daria are really getting into the Holiday Spirit this year! They decorated a few Batman, Joker, & Catwoman Statues with Christmas wreaths. The funny thing is the expression on Batman's face makes him look like he's not too happy with the whole idea, ha ha! But, overall, the 3 busts look pretty cool & I thought the picture would make a great Christmas Card image ( Thanks to Dallas for sending us the funny pic ).
HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYBODY!!!

OK, right off the bat I gotta say, "I'm sorry for the delay!" I was going to list the lucky winner of the recent Bat-Blog Contest last night but I feel asleep & slept for almost 10 hours, seriously! I have been sleeping extremely erratic hours lately & was totally exhausted. I feel a lot better now, ha ha! Now it's 5:30 am & I'm awake. Yes, bummer. But this is the "Official Contest Winner Announcement", I promise. First of all I wanna thank our good friend THE BATFAN for donating this statue for the contest. You have to admit that's a very generous thing he did. So, thank you very much to THE BATFAN! Second, I wanna thank everybody who entered. This was one of the most successful contests we have ever had, many many many people entered! OK, I have had the name of the winner for at least a day now. The other night, at midnight, I pulled a random number out of a hat & checked the list of entries to find that Michael I. of Huntington Beach, CA is the lucky winner! Michael, you're gonna totally love this Special BATMAN STATUE BUST, it's AWESOME! Please contact me to confirm that we have the correct mailing address & I'll get this baby out to you soon. For everybody else, please be sure to stay tuned to the Bat-Blog because we'll have another contest coming up that you will not want to miss.

OK, here's sort of a sad story but with a happy ending. Shown here are 3 photos of an excellent Batman Art Bust Statue ( Large 1:2 Scale ). But many of you who are familiar with this piece, made by DC Direct, is gonna say, "Hey, the colors are all wacky!" Ha Ha! Well, this Bat-Statue is owned by our friend Dallas & he had to have it both restored & repainted. Why? Because his small Son accidentally knocked this thing off a table & broke it in a few places leaving obvious damage. The nose was now gone & the cowl had broken areas. He had a friend fix it for him & since it was going to need to be repainted they decided to make it the traditional blue instead of the original black color. WOW! The statue now looks really great! Dallas' friend did a great job on it. The "blue" was an interesting choice & sort of reminds me of the older Silver Age Batman...very cool! ( Thanks to Dallas for sending us the cool pics ).

DC Direct just announced that POISON IVY will be the latest character to join the popular WOMEN OF THE DC UNIVERSE bust statue series. Designed by Illustrator Amanda Conner, Sculpted by Jim Maddox. The hand-painted, cold-cast porcelain bust measures approximately 7.23" high x 2.75" wide x 2.5" deep and is packaged in a 4-color box. It will retail for about $ 60.00 & you can find it around February 23rd, 2011.

Over at the IDLE HANDS website they recently got their hands on some top-secret promotional material for a few of the brand-new BATMAN: THE DARK KNIGHT RISES Movie Statues and Busts that will be coming out later this year. They appear to be coming out around June/July of 2012. First, there's a Set of 3 ICON 12" Full-Figure Statues of Batman, Bane, and Catwoman. Then, there are 3 Busts featuring the same characters. The busts will actually come out one month earlier, in June. One cool thing about these photos is we get a better look at Anne Hathaway's CATWOMAN Costume, the Cat-Suit! Check out the Metallic Heels on those Boots. They look like they can do some serious damage!

Here's a fun post sharing some pictures sent to us all the way from the UK! This is a JACK NICHOLSON JOKER Art Bust Statue painted by a Bat-Blog Fan named Lee. Like I said he lives in England and also likes to be creative every now & then. Well, he recently painted this "Mike Hill Sculpt" of the Joker and it's pretty amazing! The detailing is really nice. He said he, "added that fake flower later", and I think it really accents the piece nicely, great job Lee!
Hey, I woke-up this morning and these pics were in my email! A Fan of the BAT-BLOG, named Steve, was kind enough to share some photos of the beginning of his DARK KNIGHT RISES Collection. So far he has a few Statues from both THE DARK KNIGHT ( Batman and The Joker )and THE DARK KNIGHT RISES( Busts of Batman, Bane, and Catwoman ), a Framed Batarang Display, and a Tumbler Batmobile...AWESOME!!

I appreciate it when people share their love of the character and the joys of collecting. Really, this is what this site is all about!! ( Thanks Steve )
