We're all eagerly waiting to see what Steven Moffat has cooked up for us in the second half of the Doctor Who season. And following said season will come the much-anticipated 50th Anniversary special. To make things even more interesting, it looks like Moffat and the BBC are not only planning to air the special in 3D, but may also be taking The Doctor to the big screen.
Some may not be fans of the 3D format, but Moffat apparently is, as he had this to say about the upcoming technological shift:
It's about time. Technology has finally caught up with Doctor Who and your television is now bigger on the inside. A whole new dimension of adventure for the Doctor to explore.
What's more, the way the execs at the BBC are teasing it, this may not be the one-and-only voyage into 3D for The Doctor, so we may be looking at more episodes in this format in the future.
While you wait for the 50th, make sure not to forget that Doctor Who will be returning to TV (in traditional 2D) come March 30th, 2013.
Thanks to TheMarySue for the heads-up.
