This "Batman: The Brave and The Bold" Video Clip is from the NEW episode "The Color of Revenge" airing on May 15th, 2009. It features a "new" Robin, The Boy Wonder! We also get a first look at the Solomon Grundy villain character. It's pretty cool they brought him back too! On a side-note, something I really like about this new animated TV series is that it just keeps getting better! I've included it here to remind everyone of what it looks like because down below is a 3D Computer Animation of this iconic comic book image from the 1960's Silver Age. As soon as I saw this on YouTube I knew it had to be shared on the Bat-Blog, it's pretty cool!

SUPERMAN / BATMAN : PUBLIC ENEMIES - Wallpaper Backgrounds + Information About The 2-Disc Special Edition Movie & Blu-Ray DVD

This week, for "Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday", I thought I would post these 2 Desktop Backgrounds I made of scenes from the new DC Universe animated movie "SUPERMAN / BATMAN: PUBLIC ENEMIES". Just judging from the recent trailer it looks pretty AWESOME! I have also included some information from Warner Bros about the different DVD formats. So, here we go! Basically they're gonna sell it as a Single DVD, a 2-Disc DVD Special Edition, & a Blu-Ray Disc Version. The release date for this will be around September 29th, 2009. Here's how they break down:

BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD DVD Volume 2 To Be Released Later This Year!

OK, we have already reported here at the Bat-Blog that BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD - VOLUME ONE Animated Cartoon TV Series will soon be released on DVD August 25th ( almost exactly 1 month from now ). Well, here is the cover art for VOLUME TWO that will come out on November 10th, I guess, just in time for Christmas. Now, both 1 & 2 will only have 4 episodes each. Looks like Warner Bros ( or maybe the Cartoon Network ) is trying to stretch out how they release these episodes. It seems logical to me that they might also release these later as a complete set titled "Season 1"...we'll see. This Vol # 2 will also feature the trailer for the PUBLIC ENEMIES: BATMAN/ SUPERMAN animated film that is set to be released around September 29th. In these AUTHORIZED VIDEO CLIPS from Warner Bros we get to see some action from the brand-new episode of BATMAN: THE BRAVE & THE BOLD that airs tonight. This adventure is titled "Sidekicks Assemble". It airs on Friday, January 22nd at 7:30 p.m. & again on Saturday morning ( check your local listings ) on the Cartoon Network.

SYNOPSIS:
Aqualad, Robin and Speedy have had it with being bossed around and demand a piece of the action, but they get more than they bargained for when they find themselves facing off against Ra's Al-Ghul and his flying island!

BATMAN: UNDER THE RED HOOD - DC Direct Statue Maquette & DVD Cover Art

WOW! I know a lot of Batman Fans are totally excited right now about the next animated film from Warner Bros / DC Universe because they're doing BATMAN: UNDER THE RED HOOD. Well, here's what the cover art to the DVD will look like & a photo of one of the 1st product tie-ins to the movie. It's a hand-painted cold-cast porcelain maquette of Red Hood. This statue will be released by DC Direct around July 7th, 2010. It measures about 9 1/2" tall & will be very limited to only 1000 pieces. It was sculpted by Derek Miller. THE SUPER FRIENDS Batman CARTOON ANIMATION MODEL SHEETS By Alex Toth!

I opened my email box recently & nearly cried! What made me almost cry? These extremely beautiful Batman animation drawings by Alex Toth, that's what! Our friend Scott sent these pictures of some real-life ANIMATION MODEL SHEETS that were created for Hanna Barbera Productions, Inc 1973. They were made for THE SUPER FRIENDS TV Cartoon. "Model Sheets" are basically a blueprint for all the different Animation Artists to use as a guide. They help keep the artwork consistent & perfect ( In size, scale and color ). These show the Basic Batman Figure ( in costume ), The Batmobile Car, & The Batplane... or is it Bat-Plane? ha! Now, readers, you might check the Bat-Blog Archives ( located on the left-side of this page, near the middle ) because I have posted more of them in the past & they're always fun to see. Plus, I wanna thank Scott for sending these, they're beautiful! These really bring back a ton of wonderful memories of my childhood. I totally loved this TV show. OK, I'm crying again, all over my keyboard. I need a minute.

OK Boys and Girls! It's Wednesday, so you know what that means... Wacky Wallpapers!! This 1st one is totally amazing! It's a beautiful retro-style image of BATMAN created by Graphic Artist Chris Franchi. Actually, it's the "top half" of a poster he's working on. The image is an homage to the work of 2 major Batman Comic Book Artists from the past, Carmine Infantino and Dick Sprang. I love the use of the benday dots & the very slightly off-register color. It looks like an enlarged photo of a comics page... COOL! The next Wallpaper is a detail shot of an original Animation Cel from the BATMAN BEYOND Animated Series. I've always loved this TV show & hope others will like this too. ( A Special Thanks goes out to Chris Franchi for sharing his artwork, it's great! )

A friend caught this image off his TV while watching a commercial for the brand-new LOONEY TUNES SHOW. Yes, they're bringing back Bugs Bunny, Porky Pig, Elmer Fudd, Tweety, & all the Gang! Now this is an image of Daffy Duck as Batman... COOL!! The new show is going to air on the Cartoon Network on Tuesday, May 3rd at 8:00pm/7c.

NEW BATMAN STATUE - YEAR ONE Maquette ( DVD Movie )

DC Direct just announced a brand-new BATMAN Statue that will be coming out later this year. It's a Maquette Figure based on the BATMAN: YEAR ONE character from the DC Universe Animated Original Movie DVD. Oh man, it's beautiful! I like the retro-style. It was sculpted by DEREK MILLER. This hand-painted, cold-cast porcelain Maquette-Statue of BATMAN will be released on September 27th, 2011. It will measure about 9.8" high x 7.75" wide x 5" deep. Also, it's a Limited Edition. Hey, it's still Wednesday, so I'm not too late for "Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday", ha ha! Yes, I've been way too busy today to post anything but have some great stuff lined-up for later. Also, I wanted to get on here real quick & share some recently made BATMAN YEAR ONE Backgrounds. They celebrate the next BATMAN DC Universe Animated Film coming to DVD next month ( Oct 18th ). Two of them are variations of the artwork that will be used on the DVD cover ( Which one do you like better? ). Then, there's a cool movie image of Catwoman... Man, I can't wait to see this!

THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS - Peter Weller Announced as Voice of Bruce Wayne / Batman in the New Animated Movie!

DC Entertainment just announced recently that Actor Peter Weller will play the voice of "Bruce Wayne/Batman" in the next DC Animated Film, THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS. ( Please be sure to check out the post we did yesterday that featured more news & awesome sneak-peek photos ). OK, some of you might be thinking, "Hey, I know that name". Yes you do, this is the guy who played "Robocop" many years ago, a cult-movie favorite!

It's also kinda weird that Frank Miller wrote the original ROBOCOP script AND this animation is based on his classic Batman Graphic Novel. Anyways, I like this Actor a lot and he has a great voice. I think he'll do a pretty good job, we'll have to wait and see.
