BATMAN-Themed POP ART PAINTINGS By J.R. Williams

Over at my Facebook account I have a friend named J.R. Williams. Recently he loaded a few pictures in his gallery showing some recent artwork he did for an art show. Two of them were "Batman-related" so I thought I would share them here. They look like paintings done in watercolor. The coloring is done very well. I know Bat-Blog Readers will love them because they feature Batman! I really really like these & every time I see them I totally crack-up, they're hilarious! Funny Humor Photo: Dogs Dressed in Batman & Robin Costumes

I have a good friend who is known as "Weezee Mule" over at the 1966 Batman Message Board ( his real name is Mike ). It's a nickname he uses & every single time I read it I totally crack-up, ha ha! The other day he sent me some really wonderful photos of his personal Batman Toy Collection, which is completely insane ( there's a ton of great stuff ), & I plan on posting those later, but for right now I wanted to showcase one photo that was sort of different & kind of stood out on it's own. These are his 2 family dogs dressed up like Batman & Robin! I love the expression on their canine faces. They seem sort of embarassed a little bit, ha ha! But they look pretty cool in their outfits & the photo is extremely funny. Now, I did mention he has an awesome toy collection & I'll be sharing those later. Who's the cutest Little Batman & Little Batgirl in the whole-wide world? You two children are, Yes you are! Ha Ha, I really love getting family photos like this sent to me. These 2 little kids are so sweet & cute. This is Max & Dena wearing their Batman and Batgirl T-Shirts! Now, Max has been on the Bat-Blog before, so he's already had his 15 minutes of fame, but this is the first time for Miss Dena & NOW she is the star too! Thank you to the proud parents for sending us this pic, it's wonderful. They are so cute.

Silly Batman Birthday Cakes From Brazil!!

OK, now I know if I just published these photos of silly Batman birthday cakes then that alone would be kinda funny, or quirky, but there's also something else happening here. I got these tonight from a Bat-Blog Reader named Paulo who sent them because the Bat-Blog just recently celebrated it's 3rd year anniversary. That's great & I really appreciate that but the cool thing, for me, is that I learned something new. I asked him, "Why is Batman sitting on the cakes? That's ...kinda weird!". He laughed & just said that it's a Brazilian tradition. That a lot of kid's birthday cakes have this design. Wow! See, I never knew that & I learned something new about the world. I learned something new about another culture. I know this all seems kind of corny but I really love that! I think one of the things I like best about doing this blog is getting to learn more about the world as a whole & learning to love diversity. I'll admit I'm kind of stupid about some things & getting the chance to learn about other people & places is just a rare treat I never expected when starting this dumb blog. So, Thank You to Paulo for these great pics (they're hilarious!) and thank you to all the readers who have written lately expressing their appreciation for the Bat-Blog. It really really means a lot to me.

PVP Online Web Comic Strip Makes Fun of BATMAN: ARKHAM ASYLUM!

One of my favorite web comics online is PVP ( which stands for "Player vs Player" ). It's a comic strip about an office full of characters who are all total comic book & gaming geeks. In fact, they all work at a magazine for video game news. Recently the creator of the strip, Scott Kurtz, made total fun of BATMAN: ARKHAM ASYLUM ( Click on the small graphic up above for a larger, more readable, version ). It hilarious! Just a quick, funny, post: OK, This has got to be the greatest haircut in the entire human history of hairstyles!! It's a carved-out silhouette of Batman!! The graphic looks like something out of "Batman: The Animated Series" ...it's GREAT!! This will be MY next hairstyle, for real!

Breaking News: Batman's BATMOBILE CAR Spotted on Highway 95 North!

OK, These photos are pretty funny and, yes, it might be a situation where "you had to be there", but I think it's totally hilarious! These 2 pics were sent in by our friend Dave who said he was just traveling down the street when all of a sudden he & his Wife saw Batman's Car going down the street!! He explains it a lot better than me so here's what he wrote:

"My wife & I were heading back from the Chiller Theater Convention in New Jersey on Halloween Night and we spotted a Batmobile driving on 95 North through Connecticut! My wife Nancy tried taking a pic through my driver's window, then we caught a better pic on the passenger's side, making me MISS the exit for 95 North to Rhode Island! We were able to get back on the highway and make it home, but it was worth the pic. This gentleman driving the Batmobile looks like he modified his black Corvette with reflective tape, the Batman shield, and this gentleman actually painted and detailed the foam wings! I hope you enjoy the pics!"

Enjoy the pics? Oh man, these pics are GREAT! I also think the story is pretty funny too like how you missed your exit just to get a photo...Ha Ha! Thanks so much for sharing your story & almost risking your life. It WAS worth it!!

FAIL - Hey Jack! Please Sign Your Joker Photo!

I'm not quite sure if this photo is real or shopped but if it is an actual real-life pic then it is completely hilarious! Here's some guy holding out a pen & 8 X 10 photograph to Actor Jack Nicholson & asking for an autograph. The guy must not know anything about the different characters in the movies because it's NOT the "1989 Batman Movie" version of the Joker, that Jack played, in the photo, but it's the later Dark Knight movie "Heath Ledger" version. What?! Does he think that all Jokers are the same? I totally love the expression on Jack's face...like he's looking at a total moron & can't believe it, ha ha!

This is going to fit into "Weird & Wacky Bat-News" but it's kinda fun so follow me here. A friend of the Bat-Blog, named Travis, was channel surfing the other day & couldn't believe his eyes when he saw a guy on TV dressed as a beaten and bloodied Robin/Jason Todd! But he managed to sneak a screen shot so check out the pic! Yes! That's Jason Todd, AFTER being beaten by The Joker with a Crowbar!! Good eye Travis. Oh yeah, as a side note, I think the "Hawaiian Girl" is kinda cute, ha!

One of the fun things they did during the 1966 BATMAN TV Show was the "Window Cameo". Every now and then Batman & Robin would be climbing up the side of a building in Gotham City & a window would open with a special guest to interact with. It was a favorite part of the show for many viewers & the list includes: Jerry Lewis, Dick Clark, Green Hornet ( Van Williams ) and Kato ( Bruce Lee ), Sammy Davis Jr., Jose Jimenez ( Bill Dana ), Howard Duff as Detective Sam Stone on "Felony Squad", Colonel Klink ( Werner Klemperer ), Lurch ( Ted Cassidy ), Don Ho, Andy Devine as Santa Claus, Art Linkletter, Edward G.
