Super-Amazing BATMAN TOY & ACTION FIGURES COLLECTION From Puerto Rico!

This post is all about the amazing Batman Toy Collection of our good friend Tomas from Puerto Rico. He's been reading the Bat-Blog for awhile & decided to send us some photos. Personally, I love when people do that because there's something special about seeing other people's collections. I always like to see what I have & don't have. It looks like Tomas likes to collect New Action Figures, Superhero Dolls, Silver-Age Comics Books, & Vintage Beatles Record Albums! Yeah, I couldn't help but notice them as I'm a BIG FAN of the Fab Four also. I also like how everything is so well-organized & displayed properly, that's cool, good job. Before it's too late, I wanna thank Tomas for taking the time to take all of these pictures, they're great! Tomas, your collection is wonderful & I appreciate the pics. I also want to invite all readers of this blog to send in your collection photos. Sharing the love of the Batman Character & The Joys of Collecting is what the Bat-Blog is all about!!

Amazing BATMAN TOY COLLECTION of THE JOKER!

I'm kinda proud of the fact that the Bat-Blog is one of the #1 places that people enjoy sharing their love of Batman Toy collecting. I've been a total Toy Collector for over 20 years & I am always still amazed when I see other people's collections. I don't know, it's just a really neat experience. Here's a great example. The other day I got an e-mail from a Bat-Blog Fan named Jason. You might remember his cool Joker & Poison Ivy Tattoo Photos we posted recently. Well, he sent us some pics of his awesome JOKER TOY collection!! I gotta say that there are some very great "Prince of Crime" items shown here, Ha Ha Ha! I love how it's all displayed so nicely. Plus, it's really cool to see a bunch of Joker stuff all together. I like collections that focus on a certain aspect of Batman. A few people I know focus mainly on the Batmobile Cars, for example. I wanna thank Jason for sharing these wonderful photos. Jason, I know you sent more pics than this but because of space limitations I had to tweet then down a little. But, overall, this is a nice representation of your amazing collection. Thanks for sending them, I appreciate that a lot. Hey everybody, if you have a collection ( Toys, Comics, Props, Art, etc..) that you enjoy then please shoot us some pics this week & send them in...the main focus of the Bat-Blog is sharing the love of collecting!!

POW! Here are 2 brand-new Bat-Collectibles to keep an eye out for because they're both extremely cool! I mean, I totally love these!! Here are BATGIRL and CATWOMAN Dolls made by Pullip Toys of Japan. These awesome Japanese Toys were sold as an EXCLUSIVE at the 2011 San Diego Comic Con! But don't worry, they're also being sold online & finding them is pretty easy. They retail for around $130.00 each. In one photo you can see their nice Display Boxes. The dolls are really great. I like their big heads ( ha ha ) & the costumes are wonderful. Also, the very last photo shows 2 variations that were EXCLUSIVES in Japan only. They were sold at the "Wonder Festival" & are limited to 400 pieces each. Personally, I like the SDCC versions better because their hair color is more accurate.

Noel Cruz Paints Celebrity Dolls To Make Them Uncanny Valley Fabulous

If you’ve ever seen actors playing with themselves — er, action figure versions of themselves, we mean — you already know that many of the action figures and dolls for our favorite movie characters look very little like we remember them. Thankfully, artist Noel Cruz has rectified this with painstaking re-paints of the dolls based upon some of his favorite characters, including actors from Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Twilight, Pirates of the Caribbean, comic book adaptations, and classic movies. His whole oeuvre is impressive, but we wanted to focus on the ultra-realistic repainted dolls from the movies most relevant to what we enjoy (or mock) on a regular basis.

Cruz uses acrylic paint and ultra-fine brushes to make factory-standard dolls look more true to life, sometimes yielding uncanny results. Many of them have sold on Ebay for over $500.

“As with all my creations, I completely strip the original factory paint on each of the dolls and completely repaint the facial features in, paying attention to accuracy of likeness and lifelike expressions. [...] Repaint is a new form of pop art, wherein the doll’s face is treated like a three dimensional canvas, with the added challenge of painting within a very small area . Since dolls are basically miniature pieces, brush strokes and shading have to be very controlled and precise.” — Noel Cruz
