The latest Entertainment Weekly is out and features the two covers above and some new production stills from J.J. AbramsStar Trek Into Darkness showing a variety of the iconic Star Trek characters and situations. Let’s get right to it and find out what we can see in the stills below.

A taste of Kirk (Chris Pine) and Spock (Zachary Quinto), not sure, but this could be from the detention scene that’s been teasing Star Trek fans everywhere for the last couple of weeks.

Lots of action in this shot, could this be when that Starship was crashing into the bay? I don’t think anyone was able to make out whether it was the Enterprise or not in the trailers so far. I wonder though, what the hell do they use on those floors? You can see yourself in them, the future has obviously made some outstanding advancements in cleaning products.

There he is, Benedict Cumberbatch, or John Harrison (Described by co-writer Alex Kurtzman as a ”member of Starfleet who turns on Starfleet.”) or “Khan-Lite” as we refer to him around the NerdBastards office. Check out those big guns the Red-Shirts are toting. I can’t wait to see what the Prop Replicating Cosplayers are going to do with those.

Zo Saldana is back as the beautiful, intelligent, Linguistics expert Lt. Uhura. Spock’s main squeeze, I love this change in the Star Trek cannon. Saldana talked about her character in Star Trek into Darkness, ”I told them (writers) to make sure that Uhura kicks more ass. And she does!” I love that she is getting a greater overall role in the series, the character deserves it.

It’s the man himself, director J.J. Abrams and writer Alex Kurtzman. What could they be talking about? Maybe something like:

Abrams: “There’s about this big a chance that I’ll take the Star Wars gig.”

OR . . .

Abrams: “This is the galaxy’s smallest violin, playing for you and whining about re-writes.”

OR . . .

Abrams: “If one more person asks me about Khan, I’m gonna pinch them so hard.”

Well, that’s all we’ve got at the moment. Did you notice something worthwhile in the pictures above? Let us know about it in the comments section below.
