Vocaloid: Kaito 05

On his first release, Kaito was deemed a failure as he had only sold 500 packages in the initial distribution. However, on the 16th of September 2007, Tatsunami uploaded a parody of the song in Higurashi no naku koro ni, "A Request from Hatsune" onto NicoNicoDouga at the height of Miku's popularity. The video began with the words "please sometimes recall [KAITO]," as well as Miku asking "where are you and what are you doing now?" from the song Dear You.

It so happened that Ice-P was producing the cover "The Ice Cream Song" sung by Saeko Shee in 1960. Four hours later, the song was uploaded as a response to Miku, with Kaito saying "yes? I was eating an ice cream," and "Miku, let's eat it together next time."

The rediscovery led to Kaito's success, winning the second best seller of the year in Nico nico Market 2008.

Poor Kaito! At least now he has awesome cosplays to go with his success! Awesome cosplay by Reika ( )!

Tsubasa - Reservoir Chronicle: Syaoran and Sakura 03

As the story progressed, it was revealed that Syaoran was a clone of another teenager created by the sorcerer Fei-Wang Reed, in order to find Sakura's feathers no matter what the cost. The original Syaoran managed to place some of his "heart" within the clone's right eye, which allowed him to develop a personality of his own. Once the seal was broken, however, Syaoran lost all his emotions and was used by Fei-Wang to collect Sakura's feathers throughout dimensions on his own, betraying all of his friends in the process.

The concept behind the clones in Tsubasa really confuses me, but I really like this cosplay done by Hagaren and Hu Li! Please visit Hagaren's gallery for more photos!

Blood+: Otonashi Saya

Born in 1833 from one of two cocoon-like objects taken from the belly of a chiropteran mummy, Saya was adopted by Joel Goldschmidt and treated as his daughter, while her sister Diva, who was initially left nameless, was locked in tower. Saya did not know about Diva's existence until 1863, when she heard Diva singing and gave her a name. During a birthday party for Joel, however, Diva's true nature emerges, as she was released to sing in the party but ended up slaughtering everyone in the Goldschmidt household. Saya then spent her periods of activity hunting Diva, trying to kill her, her chevaliants, and any chiropterans they have created.

It's a bit scary and disturbing, but I'm hoping that's fake blood on Lenneth's hands. Thanks to Katrina for sending this and to Razin for the awesome photography!

Naruto: Tenten

Tenten is the only female member of Team Guy, and she longs to prove that a female ninja can be just as skilled as any male ninja. Of all of the protagonists in the series, Tenten receives the least amount of screen time. However, series creator Kishimoto Masashi favors her design more than any other female characters he created. Her Japanese Seiyuu is Tamura Yukari and her English voice actor is Danielle Judovits.

Beautiful cosplay by Zhyrhe! This is a pretty popular photo on the net, but I wish people would link her back to her Deviant Art account. Thanks again to Yukino for sending this in!

Hugh Jackman on ‘The Wolverine’, How He’s the “Ultimate Outsider”, in Video With 3+ Minutes of New Footage

Fans are are heavily invested in James Mangold's The Wolverine to right the wrongs done to the character in both X3 and Wolverine: Origins. With the release date, July 26th, looming ever closer, Mangold, Hugh Jackman, and others discuss what sets The Wolverine apart from previous stories in this latest featurette, A Ronin Story. In it, Jackman touches on the isolation of Wolverine, saying,

Wolverine is the ultimate outsider. And in our movie, which takes place after X-Men 3, he's probably more isolated than you've ever seen Wolverine. He has lost hope, and it's a dangerous place for someone as powerful as Wolverine.

But the talking heads aren't really what you're here for, are they? What you want is the new footage, which is inter cut between interview snippets, but still gives us the best look at the movie since the trailers.

Man, does this movie look awesome! I can only hope I won't be woefully disappointed. I remember how excited I was for X3 and Origins, and the distasteful sting they left me with. Have you decided to give The Wolverine a chance? Or have your wounds yet to heal?

Latest ‘Hobbit’ Production Vid Brings (Bad) SDCC News

Let's get the unfortunate stuff out of the way: as fate would have it, it turns out that The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug will not be appearing at San Diego Comic Con later this month. According to director Peter Jackson, he and the cast and crew are just too busy at the moment doing pick-up shots for the last two Hobbit films in New Zealand to be bothered to have the time to head across the Pacific to San Diego and be available for the fans at Comic Con. Jackson sends his regrets because he likes to be very hands on with what he brings to Comic Con, but at this time the pick-ups take priority and he need to "take the Comic Con burden" off his shoulders, so to speak.

Jackson promises some new footage from the films soon, but in the meantime you can get your Hobbit fix by checking out the latest of Jackson's production diaries, conveniently embedded below (It's got elves!):

First ‘Kick-Ass 2′ Clip is Under 140 Characters, Urges You to Follow @MotherF_cker on Twitter

Often, new movies and television shows use Twitter as a marketing tool. Sometimes it's cool, other times awesome, - like director Joss Whedon using the Much Ado About Nothing account which led to his own, personal Twitter account - and then there's those awful attempts that feel like your parents trying to be hip with the cool kids. Thankfully, the new account, @MotherF_cker, which is of course around to promote Kick-Ass 2, is the awesome kind. As in, it reads just as if you were following The Mother F%&*^r on Twitter. Which, I guess, now you are.

The only thing that could possibly make this better is if it was Christopher Mintz-Plasse running the account, but at least whomever they've got doing it is doing a bang-up job as the evil asshole.

There's this new clip released as well, heralding The Mother F%&*^r's tweeting,

src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/7HSpCMpUMYQ?feature=player_embedded" height="350" width="600" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0">

And last I checked, @MotherF_ucker's got over 2,ooo followers. Will you be one of them?

Kick-Ass, Hit Girl and Red Mist return for the follow-up to 2010's irreverent global hit: Kick-Ass 2. After Kick-Ass' (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) insane bravery inspires a new wave of self-made masked crusaders, led by the badass Colonel Stars and Stripes (Jim Carrey), our hero joins them on patrol. When these amateur superheroes are hunted down by Red Mist (Christopher Mintz-Plasse)-reborn as The Mother F%&*^r-only the blade-wielding Hit Girl (Chloe Grace Moretz) can prevent their annihilation.

Kick-Ass 2 hits theatres on August 16th.
