The Prince of Tennis Cast

Primarily set in Tokyo, The Prince of Tennis is a series about a tennis prodigy named Echizen Ryoma who attends Seishun Academy (Seigaku) private school famous for its strong tennis club and talented players. Ryoma quickly defeats several upperclassmen, securing himself a spot as one of the team's regulars. Together they pursue their goal in winning the National Middle School Tennis Championship while realizing the true meaning of tennis.

I don't know the series well enough to say which character is which in this photo, so I'll leave it to you guys to let me know how accurate this group shot is. Thanks to Lira for sharing this!

Rurouni Kenshin: Kamiya Kaoru and Himura Kenshin

After leaving his past as Hitokiri Battousai behind him, Himura Kenshin lived as a wanderer for 10 years before meeting a young woman named Kamiya Kaoru. He decides to help her in defeating a murderer claiming to be Battousai who uses the Kamiya style in fighting, destroying her family's good name. Upon realizing the gentle Kenshin was the real Battousai, she offers him a place to stay in her dojo.

Such a beautiful cosplay from one of the best classic series out there! Thanks to Migz for sharing this!

Kuroshitsuji: Ciel Phantomhive 06

After his parents were murdered, Ciel Phantomhive become a slave and a sacrifice for a religious cult ritual. While he was being tortured, however, his hatred grew for the people who took away his parents and freedom, summoning a demon Ciel named Sebastian Michaelis. It was then that Ciel sold his soul to the devil in order to gain the power to fulfill his revenge.

Gorgeous cosplay! Even if the hair is white instead of gray, I think it's a minor error which can be overlooked. Originally found on Tumblr.

K-On!: Hirasawa Yui 04

A hard-worker when it comes to her guitar playing, Hirasawa Yui can have incredible focus when she has a clear goal in sight. Unfortunately, this is limited to only one subject as a time. In one incident, Yui had to make up for her test scores in math and while she was able to bring her skills up to par, her guitar skills deteriorated quickly. Nevertheless, Yui plays her guitar with amazing energy and joy, much to the delight of her audience.

This is pretty awesome! And if she's willing to share, I'd like a donut too please!

Neon Genesis Evangelion: Soryu Asuka Langley 04

Shortly after her mom's suicide, Asuka's Japanese-American father quickly remarries Kyoko's doctor with whom he was having an affair with. Asuka's defensiveness quickly repels her new stepmother, but the two eventually learn to tolerate one another while maintaining a cheerful facade of a normal family. Asuka proves to be a child prodigy, earning her university degree while still in her teens and becoming fluent in spoken Japanese.

Now that's what I call authentic! And the detailing of the plug suit is wonderfully made. Thanks to Trina for sharing this!

Katekyo Hitman Reborn!: Dino Chiavarone 02

Thanks to Reborn's training, Dino made a name for himself and became known as "Haneuma Dino" which means "Bucking Horse Dino". He managed to fix the Chiavarone's financial problems and turned them into the third most influential family. Dino is so devoted to the family that, when none of the family members are around, his skills decrease dramatically; often accidentally hitting people with his whip and falling down the stairs.

Sounds like a fun character to be with! Thanks to Simon for sharing this!

Vocaloid: Kaito 05

On his first release, Kaito was deemed a failure as he had only sold 500 packages in the initial distribution. However, on the 16th of September 2007, Tatsunami uploaded a parody of the song in Higurashi no naku koro ni, "A Request from Hatsune" onto NicoNicoDouga at the height of Miku's popularity. The video began with the words "please sometimes recall [KAITO]," as well as Miku asking "where are you and what are you doing now?" from the song Dear You.

It so happened that Ice-P was producing the cover "The Ice Cream Song" sung by Saeko Shee in 1960. Four hours later, the song was uploaded as a response to Miku, with Kaito saying "yes? I was eating an ice cream," and "Miku, let's eat it together next time."

The rediscovery led to Kaito's success, winning the second best seller of the year in Nico nico Market 2008.

Poor Kaito! At least now he has awesome cosplays to go with his success! Awesome cosplay by Reika ( )!
