The DC STUNT COALITION: Where Cosplay and Stuntwork Meet!

There has been a rise of creative cosplay videos being combined with other art forms such as music and parkour. Recently, we interviewed Dylan Hintz of the DC Stunt Coalition about the art of stuntmaking at Otakon 2013. The DC Stunt Coalition is a place where anyone can join if they are interested in learning (and especially participating) at how some of the great stunts we see on television and in the theaters are performed. Our first video is with the co-Founder Dylan Hintz explaining all about the DC Stunt Coalition, as well a video with a Cammy cosplayer kicking butt and a video of a Riddick cosplayer taking down Drogo of Game of Thrones!

And as a bonus, we also interviewed Hollywood stuntwoman Angela Meryl (Kill Bill) about what it takes to make it in the business.

Interview conducted by Spectra Cosplay. Additional footage used in these videos was supplied courtesy of Dylan Hintz.

R.I.P. Dick Giordano, 1932-2010

Yesterday was a very sad day for many comic book fans. A legend, an icon actually, passed away. Of course I'm talking about Dick Giordano. Mr. Giordano worked in the comic book industry most of his life. He was an incredible artist & was quite prolific. As a very young comic book fan & collector I was always drawn to his artwork. He drew many of the comic book characters that I really loved. I ALWAYS recognized his art, almost right away. He had a very unique style. It was very realistic, especially his background scenes, & always interesting. His line work was sort of fast & fluid, but he always attached a great amount of detail in a way that seemed effortless. He also created a lot of stock art that was used on paperback books, calendars, products, & other bits of marketing. So, even if you didn't read the comics he drew his art seemed to be everywhere! It saddens me to say that I never got to meet him. I know a lot of people who did & every single person has told me that he was totally great to be around, that he was very down to earth, kind to a fault, & very funny. I'll always be a fan of his work and, with his passing, I even sort of feel like I have lost a part of my childhood. So, I want to thank him personally for all of his great work & for his friends & family I hope they find some peace very soon. He will be missed by many many people. R.I.P Dick Giordano, 1932 - 2010. As sort a side note I would like to tell people that the picture down below is a "Tribute Wallpaper" I made last night. Please feel free to use it to remember this great man, thanks.

BATMAN BACKGROUNDS - Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday!

OK, Every super-loyal Bat-Blog Reader knows that Wednesday is the day we pull out the new cool free Batman Wallpaper Backgrounds, so here we go! This week I thought I'd focus on original comic book art work & do something a little different. The 1st image is from a classic comic book guy, Berni Wrightson! This is a sketch he did in 1989 & it looks like Batman is creating some property damage, again! If you're a bad guy, this is NOT what you want to see, ha ha! The next one is more "modern day" & shows the new Robin. It's drawn by fan favorite Cameron Stewart. For more Desktop Backgrounds please be sure to check out the BAT-BLOG ARCHIVES located on the left-side of this page ( about 1/2 way down ). There, you can see every Batman Wallpaper we have ever posted! Or, you can just click on the button down below & see the last few we have done, thanks!
